Shanklin Chine
Shanklin Chine is a natural fissure in the cliff, formed
by water cutting through sandstone. It drops 105 ft
to sea level with dramatic waterfalls, deeply shaded
paths which wind their way over a quarter of a mile
to the sea. More than 150 varieties of wild plants and
many species of moss flourish in the tranquil atmosphere.
